Chickies and Gourds

Rhode Island Red pullets. I only wanted a dozen but the minimum order at McMurray Hatchery was 24! YIKES! If all these babies survive we are going to be eating a lot of eggs; or chicken dinners! Aren't they cute!
Earlier in the summer season I planted about 6-8 gourd seeds. *(Never try to eat a gourd seed). Here are my gourd plants practically eating my potting shed. I love it! And yes, I need to mow!

Here is one of my many birdhouse gourds. I love the color!
I am the type of person that likes overgrowth. Neat and trim is for golf courses. Pictured is my orange sunflowers, morning glories, cosmos, and zinnias growing around and over the chicken yard fence.
