SNAKE: This sneaky snake was hiding under one of the hens nest. I suspected something was up since there were no eggs and the straw was raised up. Using a large stick I poked and prodded until snake got uncomfortable. My hubby (knight without shiny armor) killed it!
NEW TATERS: I had to get these out of the ground before they rotted in the mud. A good little crop!
NEW SIGN: I just need to put a clear finish on it and set it up outside.

Love the sign! Taters are good...you can keep the snake.
Okay that snake is way to big. You are a brave woman to go proding and poking, looking for it. I guess the lack of eggs can motivate one to do that. Snakes really freak me out!
Oh, those blasted chicken/rat snakes. I have a raccoon getting my chickens. I also had to dig my taters. I didn't get as many as you did. Congrats.~~Dee
