Mother's in my life

The most precious woman in the world to me is my mother. She has taught me so many, many things throughout my life. I remember as a very young girl looking up to her and thinking "I want to be like you, mama". I wanted to grow up and marry a man just like she married. I wanted to have babies and love them like she loved my sisters and me. I wanted to cook good food like she did. I wanted to keep a home like she did where when people came to visit they enjoyed being there. She made my sisters friends and my friends feel like family. There were times when we brought friends home with us because there was turmoil in their lives and she gave them a place to stay and feel safe. Through the years she has helped us through hurting times and hard times. She has been with us when babies, grandbabies and great-grandbabies were born. She has been love and strength for all of us. We truly call her blessed!
Happy Mother's Day, dear Mama!
Grandpa and Grandma Pollard with one of their many baby's.
My daddy always said Grandma Pollard (Ma) was a genius!
Now you know Grandma Pollard had to have a lot of love in her to have 14 children. Here she is with 12 of her kids (she lost her firstborn and had another daughter after this picture was made). A son-in-law and a daughter-in-law and two grandbabies are also pictured. The two older ladies sitting down is my paternal great-grandmother and maternal great-grandmother.
The lovely girl on the left is my mother in law along with two of her sisters.
My mother-in-law Zelma, her mother Mary and her sister Gladys.
These three women are very precious. I had the privilege of knowing my husbands granny.

Happy Mothers Day
