This was photo taken of my mama during some of the happiest days of her life. The days when she had most of her sisters and brothers living close, her family, my daddy with her living in their little home in Council Hill. She gardened and canned, and grew gorgeous roses.
She was involved in her little community helping raise money for their volunteer fire dept. She and daddy were heavily involved in the VFW for years. They took trips to Tunica every once in a while just for fun. In fact she and daddy did most things together. My dad was quite an adventurer and kept things interesting for mama! Mama always had a sister or brother drop in for coffee. Her home was inviting, full of love and warmth. We kids spent our Christmas's at her house plus frequent weekend stay-overs during the year.
Thank you mama for creating a wonderful home. You made so many good things happen for all of us. We have so many treasured memories because of you. I love you more than you will ever know. Happy Mother's Day!
