Remember those birdhouse gourds I planted last year?

I chose a nice size gourd for my first birdhouse. This one was dried out and lightweight.
I gave it a good scrub with a potscrubber and bleach water. Next I let it dry real good before cutting the hole, removing the seeds, and applying the paint.
I marked and cut a 1 1/2 " hole. I also made two small holes
at the top to run a metal wire through.
I could not believe how many seeds were inside!
I created this green with part Kelly Green and part Yellow and gave it a good coat.
Lots of swirls of yellow, cream, orange, and dark green.
I sprayed it real good with some clear polyurethane.
Here it hangs from a small maple tree.
I hope this is inviting enough for a sweet little wren.

Have to come by and apologize for being so lax in thanking you for stopping by to say Hi.
Have been kind of busy this month and have not been paying the kind of attention to my blog that I should be.
Love the birdhouse. I am not creative enough to even try to paing a straight line much less something like that!
By the way, Alan Keyes rocks!!!!!
