I have not blogged in a while so I thought I would while my little grand monsters are still asleep. We went out for a family dinner last night and the boys wanted to come home with Gammie and Poppa. We love those little "angels". The dinner was just a little get together with the kids before our son gets married Saturday. He is marrying the sweet Venezuelan girl Kerina. We are so happy for them!
Well we are going through another drought this summer but my hubby managed to put out a lovely vegetable garden. I put up lots of food to enjoy this winter.
Okra Pickles
Sweet Pickle Relish
My own recipe
Sweet Crisp Garlic Dill Goodness
That name is a mouthful and they are so yummy!
Gotta have canned tomatoes for stews and chili!
Doesn't all that look yummy?
And here are a few pics of my flowers before the heat and grasshoppers took over.
Small sunflower
a pretty bouquet of zinnias and sunflowers
My Independence Day bouquet
One of my first bouquets had a few roses and hydrangeas. Beautiful!
And my chickens are doing great.
We are getting almost a dozen eggs a day.
I love their big red combs. These are great layers.
We have a little bantam that was determined to set. Here's one of our babies.
Oh, how I love these boys!
Well I have lots of things to do before the wedding so I better get busy.
