The one that almost got away. Late December: After buying my girls each a Red Lion Amaryllis I decided later that I wanted one for myself. Hubby was going to town so I asked him to pick one up for me at Westlake Hardware. Naturally, he didn't see any there. So a few weeks later I had to pick up something at the same store and I spotted some bulbs on clearance. There was one lone Red Lion Amaryllis. It looked very sad and lonely and I thought maybe I could bring it back to life. It did not disappoint me. I have never got so many blooms! 13 beautiful red blooms. Here she is with her last 4 blooms. Never give up!
